Product Review – 3Doodler
Forget all those regular 3D printers, all you’ll need is 3Doodler, the first ever 3D pen, which you can use to create 3D masterpieces, bringing out the 3D artist in you! Recommended for ages 12 and above, 3Doodler is a pen that is powered by a universal power supply.
The 3Doodler costs $99. The plastics, on the other hand, are bought separately at varying prices, depending on the type, colors, and strands.
Who Would Buy This?
Artists (and, all right, aspiring artists) who are looking for a different outlet for their creative skills will find it difficult to turn away from 3Doodler. Since it involves heated plastic and a hot metal tip, this is not really meant for small children, which is why it is explicitly recommended only for those who are 12 years old and upwards. Those who also enjoy 3D printing but find the costs involved in using regular 3D printers to be quite steep will appreciate how 3Doodler will let them indulge in this hobby without costing too much.
Things We Like
It’s certainly more affordable than those 3D regular printers. All you have to spend on is the pen itself and the plastic sticks or “inks”. This means that more and more people will be able to discover the joys of 3D printing, without letting the fear of atmospheric 3D printing costs stop them.
Looking at the bulky design, one would instantly assume that it will be difficult to use it to scribble and draw by hand. But that is not the case. It is still very comfortable in the hand, and it’s not as heavy as it looks, so even the most detailed doodles will come out the way you want them to.
Things We Don’t Like
Of course, not everyone is sold on the bulk of 3Doodler. It is light, and it is comfortable despite the size, but it would still be a good idea to make it slimmer. The mains power could use a lengthier cable, too, instead of having to use extension cords. According to the manufacturers, a battery-operated 3Doodler is in the works, so we definitely look forward to that. We only wish the included battery will not make it even bulkier and, worse, heavier.
A 1-year limited warranty against product defects will be available on the 3Doodler.
Is It Worth The Money?
3D printing is now easily accessible and much cheaper! These two reasons are already more than enough to convince anyone that the 3Doodler is worth spending your $99.00 on!
Where Can I Buy?
3Doodler, as well as the plastic sticks, are now available for preorder at the 3Doodler site. You can expect this 3D pen to hit the shelves soon, as well as your favourite online stores, such as Amazon.
Now there is nothing stopping anyone from trying their hand at 3D printing. Just think of all the possible works of art that you can come up with, using the amazing 3Doodler!
